The breweries & Cideries

We've got all the best beer and cider makers from the Adirondack region and upstate New York lined up to make sure you get to experience the finest flavors our state has to offer.

AuSable Brewing Company, Keeseville, NY

Unfiltered brews from unfiltered brewers.

Ausable Brewing Company is owned by brothers Dan and Dylan Badger.
The brewery and tasting room are located on 140 acres of farm land that Bob Hues used to farm.

“When we lived in Burlington together and were homebrewing, we came up with the idea of starting an on-farm brewery, where we grew a portion of our ingredients.  But it wasn't until we were brewing together again in Southern Vermont that the idea became an attainable goal.  When we moved to Keeseville and met Bobby, that's when the plan really started to come together.  In August of 2014, after two years of demolition and construction on the old barn, Ausable Brewing Company officially opened.”

“We have an ever-changing tap list that always includes 11 beers and 2 house sodas.  As brewers, it is fun and exciting for us to come up with new recipes and flavors, but we also recognize the importance of consistency for the customers.  That is why we have certain flagships that are always on tap, seasonal brews that come out at certain times of the year and one-off batches of barrel aged beers.  We strive to have enough assortment that anyone can find a beer to enjoy at ABC.  We also serve a local cider and local wine as gluten free options.  We sell pints, tasting flights and growlers-to-go.”

Common Roots Brewing Co. South Glens Falls, NY

Healthy living, environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and inclusiveness.

The idea to open a microbrewery originated in 2005, when Bert and Christian brewed their first beer together. But the concept of brewing and enjoying beer is rooted in a family heritage that can be traced back to the Old World. It was through honoring our family’s roots, as well as our love of craft beer, that Common Roots Brewing Company was born. Since opening our taproom doors for the first time in December of 2014, we have produced a variety of beer styles that we feel will appeal to any craft beer consumer.

In March of 2019 our original brewery suffered a devastating fire. It was ruled accidental and, thankfully, no one was injured. Sadly, the building could not be saved and a complete demolition was determined to be the best path forward. Within hours of the fire, our community rallied behind us, holding countless events to support our employees and rebuilding effort. Friends in the brewing industry offered up brewing space to keep our beer flowing, and we were able to find a temporary taproom space nearby to keep our company intact.

Over the next year and a half, we designed and constructed a new facility on the site of the original building. In June 2020, we moved into our new space. The new brewery is more energy and production efficient, and is helping us meet our sustainability goals. The expanded new taproom was designed to enhance the total craft brewery experience for all our customers. The new space now boasts a full service restaurant, special event room and expanded Biergarten. We hope you’ll stop in and visit!

When Bert and Christian began envisioning a community brewery, they established some core values: healthy living, environmental sustainability, social responsibility, and inclusiveness. The Common Roots Brewing Company was founded on that ethos, and along with great beer, it was the reason the company thrived locally in South Glens Falls, as well as amongst the craft beer community at large. While a formalized nonprofit was always part of Common Roots’ master plan, it really came to life after the fire. The Webers vowed to repay the community, and in 2020 they founded the Common Roots Foundation, with a mission to assist the community in times of need, support community wellness, and promote environmental stewardship.

Livingoods Restaurant & Brewery, Peru, NY

A Destination worth exploring.

What began as a small bistro in downtown Plattsburgh, evolved into a brewpub – relocating about 10 miles south to the current location in Peru, NY. Boasting a 7 barrel brew house, 80 person event space and expanded seating capacity, Livingood's is a vision realized.

Cheers!

OVAL Brewing Co., Plattsburgh, NY

Balanced Approach.

My name is Jessy Jolicoeur. I’m the head brewer and owner of Oval Craft Brewing. My brewing experience is primarily in homebrewing. I started homebrewing in 1997 while in college. My education is in biology with a significant focus in microbiology. The micro work lends itself to brewing very well. The arrival of my children meant taking a little break from brewing, because it was so difficult to keep everything clean! Since then, I’ve completed a course at the American Brewer’s Guild and also the “Start Your Own Brewery” course at the Seibel Institute in Chicago.

Now I've been in business since 2016. I tend to create balanced beers that are easy to drink. I prefer to work in subtleties so my beer is always beer first then the secondary flavors will come through. You can find everything from New England IPAs to Oatmeal Stouts on tap. I don't concentrate on any particular styles. I like to have variety of flavors for anyone's unique tastes.

I look forward to you coming in to enjoy my creations and the Oval Craft tasting room! If you can’t make it down to visit us in person, look for my beer on tap in local restaurants and bars in the Plattsburgh area.

committed to providing the highest quality Adirondack experience.

Gristmill Brewery, Massena, NY

Located on the Grass River, where our locally crafted beer is paired with pub-style culinary delights

AWESTRUCK CIDER COMPANY, SIDNEY, NY

HARD CIDER THAT'S CAUSE FOR CELEBRATION (AND MEANS TO IT).

Adventurous hard cider, handcrafted in the foothills of Catskills!  Each and every apple in our blends specifically loves you, and they’ve all come together to help improve your day.

Sometimes traditions are great
 ...and sometimes they aren't.

Over the past decades, the great cider-making customs and cider apple trees have dwindled here in these United States.

But all is not lost.  Modern cider makers can rejoice in the blank slate this has created.

With no stingy heritage to ruthlessly govern us, we’re free to experiment with new techniques, new ingredients, and reach for new possibilities.

Just like the hokey-pokey at a wedding, that's what it's all about.

Owned and operated by Casey Vitti & Patti Wilcox.
